hermitage architecture
The narrative power of architecture
hermitage is a multidisciplinary architecture studio that imagines spaces capable of hosting generous and inclusive societal ambitions. At the crossroads of architecture, art, landscape, and scenography, our projects navigate across scales and address both public and private contexts. We believe that architecture can tell stories of desirable futures and offer anchor points for building a fairer world. This conviction is embodied in our experience with renovation, interior design, and scenography, often practiced within places steeped in history.
Projecting communities
Founded in 2025 in Brussels by Manuel León Fanjul and Clément Paillon, hermitage uses fiction as a tool to imagine and question the ways communities form and inhabit space. Their creative bond, born within the Traumnovelle studio, has given rise to a practice inspired by the idea of the hermitage: a refuge where reflection, creation, and the collective weave together gently. hermitage invites every person involved in a project to enrich its story and substance, in order to collectively build spaces that bring people together, that speak, and that make room for those who will inhabit them.
